Why Move to Cumberland?

Support to Help You Relocate
We know that relocating is a big step, and we’re here to support you.
Relocation Assistance Scheme
We offer tax-free relocation assistance of up to £8,000 for eligible roles, helping to offset the cost of moving so you can focus on settling into your new role and community.
- Available on selected positions
- Clearly signposted on individual job adverts
- Designed to make your transition as smooth as possible
Our Relocation Assistance Scheme could help cover the costs of lodging, rental expenses and travel; removal of furniture and effects; storage of possessions; fees arising out of the sale and/or purchase of a house; replacement of fixed fixtures and fittings (i.e. fitted carpets etc).
There may be instances where you benefit from a relocation allowance but have to repay some or all of it. This is typically if you don't relocate or leave the post under which you have claimed Relocation Assistance for any reason (except for redundancy or redployment) before completing two years of service.
Leave When Relocating
We know moving can be demanding. That's why we're here to support you with up to two days paid leave to be taken when you do your house removal. Just like any other leave, you would apply for it in the normal way.
Affordable Living, Better Quality of Life
Cumberland offers significantly more affordable living compared to many parts of the UK — allowing you to enjoy a better quality of life.
