Meet Zach Rudd

Parks & Open Spaces Team Leader

"I started as a temporary worker, working throughout the summer months carrying out ground maintenance. Over time, I got promoted and now I oversee the running of operational activities throughout Cumberland in parks, open spaces, care homes, children’s centres and cemeteries."

"Part of the role I particularly enjoy is seeing the development of colleagues. Whether this be through college courses relevant to the roles, training on machinery used each day to carry out our work or their social development through interactions with other council colleagues, customers from care homes and children’s centres or though interactions with members of the public in cemeteries and parks."

"Making a noticeable difference in the areas we work brings great pleasure. Keeping areas clean and tidy for members of the public to enjoy sets a great example."
